Course Description
This
course is designed to provide graduate students with the academic writing
skills that will help them be more successful in their future careers. The course will address organization,
writing style, rhetorical modes and cross-cultural issues. Each student will be responsible for writing
a research paper during the semester as well as completing several other short
writing assignments. Students will
write several drafts for each section of the research paper and keep all drafts
in a writing portfolio. Only
the final draft will be graded.

actively. In-class activities
are essential for your success in improving your writing skills.
If you are ill or unable to attend class, please contact the instructor. Finally, it is important that you arrive at class on time so
as not to interrupt the instructor or other students.
